My name is Carmen, I have over 20 year experience as a Spanish/English teacher and freelance translator, I live alone in my apartment in a very quiet and nice town called Moncofar near the beach, mountains and orange fields. During your stay we can do a lot of activities, I can teach you English/Spanish lessons every day at home, prepare for Spanish EOI, ELE exams and also Cambridge, ket, pet, fce, etc, and also practise communication outdoors to learn from real experiences, you can watch tv at home when you want, read books, meet my friends, go to restaurants to taste the typical Spanish food, I can show you around town, organise walking/cultural trips or excursions to the mountains, beach or go to near towns, Valencia, etc.
I like immersive teaching and teaching at home or outdoors because the students can be more motivated to learn in a real environment, for example, in daily situations, in the family’s home, go shopping, meeting people, cultural events, etc.
I live in a quiet attic flat with a small balcony and nice views facing the town, fields and mountains, there is also a big roof terrace to enjoy the sun, I love pets but I don’t have any in my flat now.
The small town has several local shops, supermarkets, medical centre, restaurants, bars, gyms, pharmacies, museums...there are also a lot of local festivities along the year. There are buses and train station to get to other beautiful towns and I’m 20 mins from Castellón and 40 mins from Valencia. I don’t have a car, I usually take the public transport to get anywhere.
I like doing sports, trekking, cycling, snorkelling, dancing, and travelling around the world, going out with friends, cinema, reading..
I lived 9 years in London in the past and since I came back to Spain I have been mainly working from home as a freelance translator or teaching Spanish/English lessons online/in person and also in some companies. I have a Degree and post degree in Anglo-german philology at Valencia University, the Qualified Teacher Status from UK and a Diploma in Translation at London University and other administrative/IT studies.
